Availability in Norway
In early June 2018, Hyundai Norway announced the Kona EV would be priced at 254,900 NOK (approx $31,000 USD) and they began to accept orders. Shortly later, Hyundai Motor Norway announced the order list was closed, as more than 20,000 people expressed interest.
In order to balance limited production capacity between several markets, Hyundai Norway announced that only 2500 copies of the Kona Electric would be sold in Norway this year, which means some of the almost 7000 initial orders will be waiting until 2020 to receive their Hyundai EV.
Deliveries are scheduled to start on July 1, 2018.
Australian Availability of Kona Electric
Based on the popular Kona ICE version and at a price of around AUD $55,000 plus, it is more expensive than the 2018 LEAF and base level Tesla Model 3 when it arrives, but the Kona EV can still be a competitor.
The Kona EV is coming to Australia towards the end of 2018, but Hyundai has not made an official announcement if both the 39.2 kWH and 64 kWh battery pack sizes will be available.
